Join us for fun stories, songs, and crafts; parents are encouraged to participate with their children. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
Paws for Reading
Read to a dog! “Paws” allows any child who can read out loud (with minimal help) to read to a trained therapy dog in a nonjudgmental, stress free, and safe environment; ages 4 to 17 recommended. Fifteen minute appointments are available during the summer and other times during the year, depending on volunteers.
School Visits at the Library
Elementary school classes visit the library for fun stories and activities, then have the opportunity to check out a library book. This program is available during the school year for public and private schools in Pinetop-Lakeside. Educators can contact Jennifer Volkert to register: 928-368-6688 x2.
Children can use our iPads, which are loaded with educational apps. They were purchased using funds from the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Readers of all ages can participate in our online reading contest: track progress, play games, and earn badges. Numerous special events, activities, and story times also occur during June and July; see the event calendar for more information.
Call 928-532-6048 to hear a new story every week.
Go online for a collection of animated talking picture books.
